My name is David Stuart and I have been an active photographer for more than 50 years. I started before I went to University and I worked in 35mm photography in the late 1960's.
After University my photography was mainly in 35mm monochrome using the then Ilford Films FP4 and HP4 and using Kodachrome for colour slide work.
About that time I got into Club photography with Cambridge Camera Club. The Club was very active was an excellent way to improve my photography skills. I enjoyed doing landscape and portraiture as well as photographing at Horse shows and Motor Racing. Each genre has its own challenges for the photographer and takes practice to improve.
I set up my own darkroom and as well as processing and printing my own monochrome films I briefly worked with Cibachrome print materials for colour images. I joined the Club Committee and served in most of the senior posts including Programme Secretary, Competition Secretary and President.
In the 1990's I started to do some work in digital photography with a small Olympus and being able to see the results immediately was a game changer.
Around that time I moved to North East Lincolnshire and my photography was primarily colour digital. At that time home computing was still quite limited

My work has been exhibited at Photography Salons in the UK, United States, Australia, Spain and Montenegro.
I received a Gold Medal for a Monochrome image in the Europa 2019 Fotoarteus Salon and a Bronze Medal for Best Still Life from the Northern Counties Salon 2019 plus two Certificates of Merit from the Winchester Salon 2019
I am close to achieving my first BPE Crown and gaining sufficient acceptances for my first FIAP qualification.
